We're Scoop Soldiers, a founder-led pet waste removal company that started with two guys working yards in McKinney, Texas, and grew into a national franchise built on showing up, doing the work right, and making life easier for dog owners everywhere. This page is where you get to know us before we ever set foot in your yard.
Scoop Soldiers didn't start in a boardroom. It started in a backyard in McKinney, Texas, where co-founders EJ McCoy and Josh Cahill were out there doing the work themselves, picking up, bagging, and hauling waste on their own. EJ grew up mowing lawns as a kid in Allen, Texas, and built EJ McCoy Enterprises LLC in 2006 from that same hands-on approach. When he and Josh turned their attention to pet waste removal, they understood the job from the ground up.
Because the founders came up doing this work themselves, the standards here were never abstract. We launched Scoop Soldiers Franchising in 2019 and have since grown to over 100 franchised territories across the U.S. Every location runs with the same expectations we set in those first McKinney yards: get there on time, do the job well, and keep it simple for the customer.
Our mission is simple: take the stink out of pet ownership. Dog ownership should be joyful. But between busy schedules and the never-ending reality of backyard cleanup, a lot of pet owners spend more time managing waste than enjoying their dogs. We built our pet waste removal service to fix that. We handle the unpleasant part so you can get back to the good part.

After every visit, we email you a photo confirming your gate is secured. The waste is hauled away entirely, nothing left in a corner of your yard or in your own trash bin. It's a complete service, start to finish, and that kind of visible accountability is built into how we operate from day one.
Our military-inspired name isn't just branding. It reflects a genuine respect for service, which is why our partnership with Valor Service Dogs means so much to us. Valor Service Dogs is a nonprofit that provides mobility and PTSD service dogs to post-9/11 veterans and first responders. We make monthly donations, sponsored a whelping room, and have contributed $100,500 to date. We continue our support for veterans paired with sponsored dogs by providing pet waste removal services for life. It's our way of honoring the people who've given so much.
We also take an eco-conscious approach to every job. Proper pet waste management keeps yards cleaner and reduces environmental contamination in surrounding green spaces and waterways, a benefit that extends well beyond the individual yard we're servicing.
